The exchange program is open to visual artists who originate from the Region of Basel, Solothurn, from South Baden or who live or work there, and who haven't been living outside Basel, South Baden or Solothurn and who ar participating regularly at regional exhibtions for more than two years, irrespective of their age and nationality.

The call for applications is being published each year in May for the following year. Announcements are published on the iaab website. Documentation can be obtained through downloads on this website or at the Christoph Merian Stiftung at the St. Alban-Vorstadt 5 in Basel.

A jury consisting of representatives of the iaab patrons and of people with first-hand knowledge of art (artists, gallery owners, curators) make their choice on the basis of the applications submitted. The selected artists receive a contribution to the living costs. The jury decides the amount of the contribution.

The studios in and around Basel are reserved for participants selected by our partner organisations abroad. Information about the participation conditions can be obtained from the organisations concerned.
